The Sig Sauer P365 XL is a striker-fired (SA), recoil-operated, semi automatic pistol developed by SIG Sauer, one of the world’s most famous firearms manufacturers currently in existence. The P365 XP model was introduced in 2019, only a year after the introduction of one of the most commercially successful pistols ever made - the SIG Sauer 365. Just like its name suggests, the P365 XL is pretty much a bigger version of the SIG P365.

The P365 XL is chambered for the 9x19mm Parabellum, one of the most popular self-defense and concealed carry cartridges. The SIG P365 XL comes with a double stack magazine that can hold up to 12+1 rounds of ammo, which is quite a sufficient number for any purpose you might need the pistol for. However, those who don’t find the default capacity satisfactory can always opt for a magazine extension specifically designed by SIG Sauer.

The P365 XL is 6.6 inches long and comes with a 3.7 inches long barrel. These parameters rank the pistol somewhere in between compact and mid-sized handguns. Unlike the standard P365 version designed for concealed carry purposes, the XL model comes with a longer barrel, but also with a removable rear sight. This feature can be utilized mainly if you want to install an optics device such as a red dot sight onto your pistol.

Just like many other striker-fired pistols, the SIG P365xl is also fully made of polymer. The pistol comes with a 3-dot tritium sights system. Although the pistol doesn’t feature a standard rail (only a propriety one), there are plenty of aftermarket rail accessories. If you get one of these, you’ll be able to attach a wide array of SIG Sauer aftermarket upgrades onto your pistol, making it even greater than it already is.
