About Sig Sauer P228

The compact version of the P226. The P228, also known as the M11 in the US military, is a mechanically locked, semi-automatic, recoil operated (DA/SA or DAO) pistol. The two guns (P226 and P228) can be differentiated by comparing the trigger guards - the P228 has a curved one, while the P226 has a slightly hooked trigger guard.

The P228 is also slightly shorter and has a carbon steel slide. The gun is available in 9mm, .40S&W and .357 SIG. The barrel length is 3.9 in, the width is 1.5 in and height is 5.4 in. It is fed by 10-, 12-, 13- or 15-round magazines depending on the caliber.
